ANTI-TOUR
A key group involved in the initiation and organisation of many anti-tour protests was the group know as HART (Halt All Racist Tours); A group set up in 1969 to protest against Rugby Union tours to and from South Africa. HART was founded by the University of Auckland students who opposed the tour and endeavored to make a change. The national organiser of the group was John Minto.

John Minto is a New Zealand based political activist known for his involvement in various left-wing groups and causes, most notably Halt All Racist Tours. He is currently a member of the protest group known as the Global Peace and Justice Auckland and the Unite Union.
